NATIONAL SEXUAL HEALTH LINE

The National Sexual Health Line is UK-wide and provides confidential advice and information on aspects of HIV, AIDS and sexual health. The Helpline can also provide UK wide referrals to specialist services. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All calls are taken by trained and paid staff. It is not a counselling service, but gives you details of local helplines & services if needed.

Worried about HIV? Would you like to talk to someone about it?
TERRENCE HIGGINS TRUST DIRECT HELPLINE can give you HIV information, advice and support over the phone. We might not have all the answers straight away, but we'll know someone who has. Why not call now for peace of mind? It's open 10am - 10pm Monday - Friday, and 12 noon - 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

AFRICAN AIDS HELPLINE

Provides information and advice on HIV, the risks and taking an HIV test. All calls are free and confidential. The African AIDS Helpline is a service provided by the Black Health Agency.


Support for people with HIV

WAVERLEY CARE SOLAS: CENTRE FOR SUPPORT AND INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV

A support and information centre for people living with HIV and AIDS, their families, friends, partners or carers. The SOLAS Centre offers: a national public information service, children and young people’s service, cafe, an arts programme (both centre based and outreach), counselling service, emotional support, money advice services around welfare rights housing rights and legal rights seminars and workshops for specific groups. Rooms are also available for rent for HIV related events.
The SOLAS national public information centre covers Scotland, the SOLAS Centre provides a service to those living in the Lothian area (East, West, and Mid).

The service covers the Lothian area.

Positive Voice is a self help organisation for people living with HIV and people directly affected by the virus.

Positive Voice provides peer support and advocacy. All the support is provided by volunteers who are themselves living with or directly affected by HIV.

We provide advocacy both to individuals and communities of people living with HIV.

The drop in at Positive Voice runs on Mondays 12 - 8pm and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 12 - 4pm.

Positive Voice offers free complementary therapies during the drop in.


AIDSMAP
AIDSMAP offers a free search facility to enable you to find free confidential NHS sexual health clinics in your area.
