Health and social care

The way in which health and social care is delivered in Scotland is changing. Following the passing of the Public Bodies (Joint Working) Act 2015, health and social care services are now overseen by 31 local integration boards which became live from April 2016. The integration of process has been designed in mind to provide people with more choice and control over the services they receive. This presents an opportunity to ensure that people living with or at risk of HIV are firmly at the centre of our public services.

Integration remains in its early stages and there will unlikely be any immediate robust data to analyse the impacts it has had on both the services available and for service users. HIV Scotland will be proactive in monitoring the early stages of integration and working alongside service providers and service users to ensure the best outcomes for people living with or at risk of HIV.
