Thursday 15th March 2018

HIV Scotland are looking forward to representing Scotland at the BHIVA/ BASHH Conference, which comes to Edinburgh this April. We’re delighted that all six of our abstracts were accepted as poster presentations, meaning we can demonstrate the work and impact of HIV Scotland displaying a range of our reports and research to attendees.

Our posters will include:
• A review of barriers to HIV testing in Scotland
• Guaranteeing lessons for all – the provision of sexual health education across Scotland
• Identifying opportunities to increase HIV testing in general practice in Scotland
• Informing the national decision to approve PrEP in Scotland
• Involving people in service and policy making in Scotland
• The importance of community-led policy interventions for addressing stigma.

HIV Scotland will be on hand throughout the conference to discuss this work with community members, clinicians and researchers. We’ll have a stall with even more information. For the first time, from the host city, the Lothian Patient Forum will also be attending with their own stall so make sure to stop by and find out about their work.

We’ll also be discussing new and emerging issues with researchers and clinicians at the conference, and reporting back on exciting developments through this bulletin, our social media and website.

It is great to be able to attend BHIVA /BASHH and present some of our most important pieces of work from this year, and it provides good momentum for AIDS 2018 in Amsterdam where we are confident we will be able to present some of our new work.
