Fast Tracking Scotland: A HIV Scotland Symposium and Community Workshop

Back to news & events

Monday 29th October 2018

Glasgow Science Centre
Monday 29th October, 2018
10:30 – 15:30 (including a buffet lunch)

Cities bear a large share of the global HIV burden. Join us to learn about the Fast-track cities initiative, and how your activism can support efforts to scale up Scotland’s response to HIV. Our community workshop is designed for people living with and at risk of HIV, and will equip you with the tools to advocate locally for the implementation of the Fast-track cities initiative, helping Scotland achieve our global targets and reach zero HIV stigma.

After lunch, our Symposium will look at how effective city-level action in Glasgow, as well as the rest of Scotland’s cities, can influence national outcomes, focusing on the role of Local Authorities, Health & Social Care Partnerships and Alcohol & Drug Partnerships. Together, we will investigate if the global Fast-Track Cities initiative can be implemented in Scotland’s cities.

We’ll learn from other cities in Europe and imagine the possibilities that will help Scotland take a place on the global stage, fast tracking to zero.

Please RSVP to nathan.sparling@hivscotland.com, or register on Eventbrite at https://bit.ly/2wmNfXv by Wednesday, 26th September for your place at this exciting event.
