While offering good universal services, Health Boards also need to target resources towards those more vulnerable, including hard to reach groups that are at a greater risk of poor sexual health outcomes and those who have difficulty in accessing mainstream services. This is often done in partnership with other agencies or through commissioning. This event will highlight recent research and initiatives as well as showcasing some examples of effective
partnership working.
The programme will include inputs from NHS Health Scotland, NHS Lothian, NHS Borders, Gay Men's Health, Waverley Care, LGBT Youth & Dr Colin Morrison and will explore how to reach particularly vulnerable groups, including working with African communities around sexual health issues; reaching men who have sex with men (MSM) within remote and rural settings; working with/targeting older MSM; and improving sex and relationships learning for children and young people with a learning disability.
