The Gaycon Conference is taking place this year on the 25-26 of October 2012 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. The conference takes place every 2 years in Scotland and provides an opportunity to engage a wide range of professionals across Scotland on the sexual health needs of gay and bisexual men. Abstracts are now being sought from people interested in presenting or facilitating an interactive session at the conference (please see attached flyer for further details).

According to the World Health Organization, tuberculosis (TB) is responsible for one in four HIV-related deaths. Globally, around one third of all people living with HIV also have TB. While people living with HIV, and especially children, are 21-34 times more likely to develop active TB due to a weakened immune response, the loss of 350,000 people living with HIV in 2010 to a curable disease is unacceptable.

The theme aims to raise awareness around HIV and to promote respect for the human rights of people living with HIV. The memorial will take place on Sunday 20 May 2012.
