African and Minority Ethnic HIV Project (AMEHP)

AMEHP is the HIV Scotland project focused on the needs of specific populations within Scotland. In order to build capacity within these communities, AMEHP facilitates networks, seminars, training and resource development. Additionally the project works to influence relevant policy and coordinate consultations.

AMEHP facilitates and supports the following initiatives:

    • AMEHP Network: for organisations and professionals with links to and/or supporting African and Minority Ethnic communities
    • Kanais: an email group for Africans in Scotland
    • The African Country Association Health Forum: representatives from different African countries participate in this supportive forum to identify and address common needs in Scotland.

Conference: Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves

This AMEHP conference was held in June 2007 to look at women, sexual health and HIV. The conference report is available here.
