Public Affairs Assistant

Location: Edinburgh
Terms: Part-time, flexible, 7 hours per week.
Salary: £10 per hour

HIV Scotland is the national HIV policy organisation for Scotland, known for our award-winning campaigns to make PrEP available in Scotland among many high profile policy changes for people living with and affected by HIV. We exist on behalf of all those living with and at risk of HIV to ensure that Scotland has responsive policies, quality services and a supportive environment that enable people living with or at risk of HIV in Scotland to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

The Public Affairs Assistant will play an important role in maintaining the organisation’s reputation by coordinating our political and parliamentary influencing activity. The post holder will undertake a range of activities to support the organisation’s work in providing secretariat for the Cross-Party Group on Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses (CPG). They will liaise directly with key stakeholders, including Members of Parliament, and will play a key role in coordinating external activities and undertaking projects related to the CPG.

Working as part of our small team, you will bring some understanding of health and social policy issues, and skills in research and drafting. You will be a good team player with a flexible approach and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
