Information for employers

As an employer you may have colleagues or employees who are living with HIV. Some may choose to share their status with you, and some may not. Whichever the case is, there's lots you can do to be aware of your responsibilities as an employer.

HIV is now considered a manageable long-term condition; effective treatments mean that many people with HIV are able to lead active working lives. Lots of people choose not to disclose their HIV status at work because they don't consider it relevant to their job or don't feel it has an impact on their working life.
